What you eat and drink has a major impact on how you look. Therefore, make sure that you mainly consume food that is rich in vitamins and minerals, if you appreciate a beautiful skin. Beautiful skin through the right nutrition

Boring but true; With a healthy lifestyle you can save quite a few years. In the field of nutrition, this means first of all that you ensure that you get enough vitamins and minerals. For example, did you know that you need enough vitamin C to stimulate collagen production? On the other hand, sugar ensures that your collagen is broken down and also that your skin hardens. The same applies to fast carbohydrates (eg bread, pasta and potatoes) and alcohol. So don’t take too much of it, if you appreciate a silky smooth and tight skin. But what do you eat?

Green smoothies are ideal for preserving your looks. You can put a lot of healthy fruit and vegetables in it, so that your skin remains well nourished. They are also ideal for the slim line. But that’s not all. Because you take a smoothie, you leave other (wrinkle) foods such as bread and breakfast cereals. So win-win! I remember it was a bit of a swallow the first time (literally and figuratively ;-)), because you have to get used to it. It doesn’t always look that attractive. My daughters even talk about mom’s poop drink, haha… Besides the green smoothie I always eat a few walnuts, Brazil nuts or almonds. Good for vitamin E and other vitamins and minerals. Moreover, by chewing (which you don’t do with a drinkable breakfast) you put your saliva production to work, which contains essential enzymes for digestion.

Recipe for the Anti-Aging Secret Beauty Smoothie

Good, enough theory for now. What do you put in a healthy smoothie? See the recipe of my own favorite mix here.

  • 80 to 100 grams of dark leafy vegetables (for example spinach, watercress or lamb’s lettuce)
  • a quarter banana (not too much, because of the carbohydrates)
  • half avocado
  • 2 or 3 tablespoons unsweetened raw cocoa powder
  • piece of ginger
  • pinch of cinnamon (make sure you buy the healthiest type of cinnamon. It’s called Ceylon cinnamon or Cinnamomum verum)

Put everything in your blender and turn it on. Then just drink it and don’t react to any looks from your roommates. It’s that simple!
