Know acupressure points in hand

Acupressure points in hand. In acupressure, as with the soles of the feet, the areas of the hand correspond to the different organs of the body. Hand reflexology boards describe the areas corresponding to the organs. Depending on the origin (China, Korea, India) the location of the reflex zones may vary.

How to stimulate acupressure points?

Acupressure points can be massaged by exerting prolonged pressure with the fingertips. Be careful, the latter must be strong enough without going as far as pain. The pressure should be exerted in a light circular motion until a slight heat is felt (usually one to two minutes).

Some acupressure points to know

Between index finger and thumb: the Hoku point

Pinching the flesh between the index finger and the thumb would help allay transient anxieties. Indeed, massaging this area while breathing deeply would be effective against stress and anxiety. This point is on the back of the hand, in the hollow of the clamp between the thumb and forefinger.

Between the two flexor tendons of the wrist: the Nei-Kuan point

Massaging the Nei-Kuan point for 2 to 3 minutes would relieve nausea related to motion sickness, pregnancy or certain treatments such as chemotherapy. To find it, turn your palm upwards and place the index, middle and ring fingers of your other hand on the forearm, against the bend in the wrist. The Nei-Kuan dot is located below the index finger.

Under the collarbone: Zhong Fu point

Stimulating the Zhong Fu point under the collarbone would be effective in learning to let go and promoting calm. It is located on the outer upper part of the chest, three finger widths below the collarbone near the arm bone. This acupressure point exists on either side of the torso.

In the center of the thorax: the Shan Zhong point

The Shan Zong acupressure point is said to help restore a sense of calm and relieve anxiety. It can be easily located in the center of the breastbone, about four finger widths from the base of the bone and between the two nipples.

Between the two eyes: the Yintang point

Working on the Yintang point would calm the mind and clarify ideas. This point is located between the eyebrows, slightly above the nose, at the junction of the latter with the forehead. For the massage, only a light pressure should be carried out, without circular movement.

On the back of the neck: the Feng Fu point

Unlike the previous cases, the Feng Fu point must be stimulated by contact with an ice cube for about twenty minutes. Stimulating this point would improve the overall health of your body. It is located at the top of the neck, just under the skull at the level of the small hollow between the neck and the head.
